Baci vs Paystack Storefront: Stock, Domains and Delivery

Paystack Storefront already supports stock tracking and order management, so Nigerian merchants should consider Baci when specific operational needs justify a change. Compare branded domains, staff-entered sales, delivery workflows and total costs, then verify Baci’s account eligibility and live workflows before moving your catalogue or replacing links customers already use.
Decision summary
Stay with Paystack Storefront if its catalogue, checkout and order tools cover your daily work. Evaluate Baci if you need a separately branded store address and want to assess broader commerce operations together. Neither higher sales nor a longer product list establishes that you have outgrown your current setup.
This is an official-source comparison reviewed on 30 October 2026, supported by Baci’s capability register reviewed on 28 October. It is not a hands-on migration test. The register establishes implementation evidence, not successful production operation for every merchant. Recommendations below are editorial judgements about what to evaluate.
The useful question is where work breaks down after a customer decides to buy. Are staff copying sales between records? Is delivery pricing clear but shipment booking still separate? Does your business need an address it controls? Write down the unresolved task before paying for a different platform.
Feature comparison
Paystack Product Links sell individual products; Storefront brings products together; Payment Pages are another collection tool. Their capabilities differ. Compare the Storefront workflow you actually use with the Baci workflow you intend to adopt, rather than treating every payment link as the same product.
| Decision area | Paystack Storefront and Commerce | Baci evidence and limits |
|---|---|---|
| Merchant fit | Hosted product selling with no Storefront subscription. | Storefront plus implemented operational workflows; confirm account access. |
| Published costs | Successful-payment fees apply. | Free and paid plans; processing and other provider costs require separate confirmation. |
| Catalogue and stock | Products, variants, finite stock and low-stock alerts are documented. | Inventory, variants and supported CSV imports are implemented; imports are plan-gated. |
| Branded address | Editable hosted links are documented; connecting an owned domain was not established by the reviewed sources. | Domain connection and purchase workflows are implemented, subject to entitlement and DNS verification. |
| Delivery | Delivery details, location fees and order shipping information are documented. | Zones, pickup, quotes, booking and tracking workflows are implemented; carrier and route eligibility apply. |
| Payments | Paystack processes payments under its applicable terms. | Paystack is one configurable option; country, currency and provider setup apply. |
| Support and setup | The official product page offers customer-success help. | Published support levels vary by plan; confirm onboarding scope. |
| Limits and unknowns | Owned-domain connection and carrier booking were not verified here. | Deployment, entitlements and successful end-to-end workflows require merchant-specific verification. |
Read the current Baci features and availability conditions alongside your requirements. An undocumented competitor workflow remains unknown; it should not be presented as missing. Equally, an implemented Baci workflow should not be described as universally available.

Conceptual illustration: evaluate how sales and stock records stay aligned across daily tasks.
Stock tracking: identify the reconciliation problem first
Paystack’s Products documentation describes stock quantities that reduce as sales occur, with finite-stock products becoming unavailable at zero. It also documents variants and configurable low-stock alerts. Moving solely because someone said Storefront cannot track stock would therefore start from an incorrect premise.
A more useful test is how your business records sales from different sources. Consider an illustrative clothing seller receiving Storefront orders and taking separate requests by phone. The merchant needs to know who records each sale, which quantity is authoritative and when staff reconcile it. A stock counter cannot resolve an unrecorded transaction.
Baci’s reviewed implementation includes staff-entered orders, payment recording and inventory workflows. That makes it worth evaluating for this scenario, but does not prove that every combination of manual orders, payment methods and stock changes behaves correctly in your deployed account. Ask for a demonstration using one of your real variants.
Before deciding, trace a single item through purchase, cancellation and restocking. Check whether each event leaves an understandable record and whether the right employee can correct a mistake. This is a proposed acceptance test, not a claim that either platform passed it. Do not infer offline POS or multi-location stock support from ordinary inventory screens.
Custom domains: separate address control from visual branding
Changing a hosted link or choosing colours is different from connecting a domain your business owns. The Paystack material reviewed documents editable hosted links and visual customisation. It does not establish an owned-domain connection workflow, so ask Paystack directly if that requirement determines your choice.
Baci implements existing-domain connection, verification and primary-domain management, as well as paid domain registration. Access, registrar/payment completion and DNS setup matter. Android in-app domain purchasing is disabled; connecting an existing domain is a separate workflow.
For a merchant printing an address on packaging, domain ownership deserves a deliberate decision. Keep registration credentials accessible to the business, establish who pays renewals and confirm how DNS changes will be handled. A domain can be a durable business asset, but changing platforms still requires planning for old links and customer communications.
Do not commission new packaging simply because a pricing page lists custom domains. First demonstrate that your intended address resolves correctly, the store opens on mobile and a customer can complete the relevant checkout. Ask who will handle a domain problem and how to reach them.
Fulfilment: collecting a fee is one step in delivery
Paystack’s Storefront help documents delivery-address collection and different fees by location. Its Commerce material also describes fulfilment-status updates and shipping information. Those capabilities can support a merchant who arranges dispatch separately.
Baci implements shipping zones, rates, pickup and supported shipment quote, booking and tracking workflows. These are reasons to investigate operational fit, not evidence that a carrier will accept every parcel or serve every destination. Credentials, merchant configuration and route availability still apply.
Use actual delivery cases when evaluating either workflow: a local pickup, a destination your regular carrier serves and an address that needs manual clarification. Check where the customer sees the fee, who confirms the address, who requests dispatch and what happens if the parcel is not collected.
As order volume rises, ownership of exceptions matters as much as booking convenience. Assign someone to investigate a stalled shipment and retain evidence of handover and delivery. A successful payment, a booked shipment and a delivered parcel are separate events; your daily process should make their differences visible.
Pricing and cost model
Prices below were checked against official pages on 30 October 2026. Paystack describes Storefront as free of setup and subscription fees, with charges on successful payments. Baci’s published pricing and plan limits list Free at ₦0, Pro at ₦5,000 monthly and Premium at ₦15,000 monthly.
Baci Free lists one store and a maximum of 10 products. Pro lists unlimited products and a custom domain. Premium lists multiple staff accounts. These are public plan descriptions; confirm actual billing entitlements, especially imports and staff access, rather than assuming a mapping to internal tier names.
Pro also displays “No Transaction Fees.” Do not read that wording as a waiver of payment-provider charges. The reviewed evidence does not settle every possible account-level charge or provider arrangement. Obtain a written breakdown covering subscription, any platform charges, processing, domain registration and renewal, and delivery costs.
Paystack’s Nigerian local transaction rate is 1.5% plus ₦100, capped at ₦2,000 per transaction; the ₦100 component is waived below ₦2,500. Its help page lists international Mastercard, Visa and Verve payments in naira at 3.9% plus ₦100, and American Express at 4.5%. Currency and transaction type matter.
For illustration, a ₦10,000 local payment produces a ₦250 processing fee under the standard published formula. One hundred identical payments produce ₦25,000 in processing fees. This arithmetic is not an account quote and excludes other costs. A platform subscription should be assessed separately from those processing charges.
Build your comparison using your typical basket sizes and payment mix. Then add the staff time needed to enter sales, reconcile stock and arrange dispatch. Estimate that time from your own records; this comparison provides no measured savings or evidence that switching will improve profit.
Checkout and payments
Baci can use Paystack for payment processing. Choosing a different storefront therefore need not mean choosing a different processor, although continuity of account setup, credentials and payment records must be confirmed.
Baci’s payment implementation also covers other merchant-configured methods, including Korapay, Credit Direct and pay on delivery. None should be assumed active by default. Country, currency, provider eligibility and configuration restrict what a particular merchant can offer. This comparison does not promise activation or settlement timing.
During evaluation, request a controlled checkout demonstration covering a successful payment, an interrupted attempt and the subsequent order record. Ask what staff should do when a customer reports payment but the order remains unpaid. Agree on an escalation route before sharing the new store widely.

Conceptual illustration: payment confirmation, dispatch and delivery are separate operational steps.
Best fit: decide by the work you need to change
Keep Paystack Storefront when its stock and order tools meet your needs and your dispatch process is manageable. Its lack of a recurring Storefront subscription is a concrete advantage when an additional platform would not remove an identified task.
Evaluate Baci when domain control, staff-entered orders, permissions or supported shipment workflows address a specific operational requirement. Ask the team to demonstrate the complete sequence on the plan and app platform you will use. A collection of separate feature demonstrations is less useful than following one order from entry to completion.
Delay migration when essential access or portability remains unclear. Paystack documents order and customer exports, but that does not establish automatic import into Baci. Baci’s product CSV import does not establish a general historical-order migration or catalogue-export workflow. Agree on the exact fields, records and responsibilities before transferring data.
A small pilot can expose practical problems before customers depend on the new process. Reconcile opening quantities, nominate one authoritative stock record and decide how old links will be handled. Running two selling surfaces without a reconciliation process can create work instead of removing it.
Verdict
Paystack Storefront is a credible choice for merchants whose stock, checkout and dispatch needs it already meets. Baci merits evaluation when an owned-domain workflow and broader order or shipment operations solve identifiable gaps. The relevant differences are address management and operational scope, weighed against subscription cost and account-specific availability. There is no evidence here for a universal order-volume threshold at which switching becomes necessary.
Baci’s mission is to make practical digital commerce infrastructure more accessible to African merchants, starting with Nigeria. Connecting a merchant-controlled address, order records and fulfilment work gives that ambition a concrete purpose: helping a business organise what happens around each sale. The mission is a direction, not proof of merchant adoption, successful deployment or measured impact. Those outcomes require separate evidence.
FAQ
Does Paystack Storefront track stock?
Yes. Paystack documents finite stock quantities, variants and low-stock alerts. Its Products help says finite-stock items become unavailable to buy when their quantity reaches zero. Check how your team records sales made outside Storefront before deciding that a platform change is necessary.
Can I connect my own domain to Paystack Storefront?
The official sources reviewed document editable hosted links but did not establish an owned-domain connection workflow. Confirm current options with Paystack. Baci implements domain connection, subject to entitlement and DNS verification; its domain-purchase workflow has separate platform restrictions.
Can Baci use Paystack for payments?
Yes. Baci implements merchant-configured Paystack payments, subject to country, currency, eligibility and provider setup. That does not establish activation for every account or waive Paystack processing fees.
When should a merchant move from Storefront to Baci?
Consider a pilot when a specific need, such as domain control or staff-entered order handling, remains unresolved in your current process. Verify the required Baci workflows, entitlements, costs and migration arrangements first. Order volume alone is not a sufficient reason to switch.
